Marcin Mieniel, former Legia Warszawa striker, gave an extensive interview for “TVP Sport”. The main topic of the conversation was the crisis in which the “Military” team found themselves.
The Polish champions in recent weeks have noted a slip-up for a slip-up. In the games of PKO Ekstraklasa this season they have already suffered 10 defeats.
The change of the trainer did not have any effect. The team led by Marek Gołębiewski does not play better than in the times of Czesław Michniewicz.
Marcin Mieniel, in an interview with “TVP Sport”, focused on the situation of “Military”. As he argues, the team may soon recover from the crisis.
– The team needs one win. This will “unblock” the heads because some of the meetings weren’t bad. The team had some situations with Pogoń Szczecin or Stal Mielec. It was enough to use them, but the rivals ended up scoring goals. If I were to be coach Marek Gołębiewski, I would focus on defense – noted the 45-year-old.
Mieniel also named the Legia player who disappointed the most in recent weeks. He noted, however, that the team’s problems are much more serious.
– Certainly Igor Charatin. If you know the situation and the coach puts you in the first squad, you have to do your best. You may not be in the form of life, but you cannot be so invisible, you cannot help but fight. If I were a coach, I would have given him a yellow card – added.
– Too many players want to attack, the defense is high and then there is too much room for opponents. I get the impression that not everyone wants to work defensively and then it is used against the team. The attackers are another problem. Mahir Emreli has scored some important goals but wasted great chances in a few other games. Tomas Pekhart completely lost his confidence after returning from Euro 2020. This needs to be changed – finished.
