Marko Grlic’s death is an unfortunate accident. The athlete and the team will go “into the field” on cross-country skis to check him for the shooting of a promotional film for the ski resort in Solden – informs the portal “Sportske novosti”. During one descent, the 38-year-old fell into deep snow, hit a snow-covered rock and died on the spot despite attempts to restore life. The man was not wearing a hard hat.

Marko Grli was the most popular Slovak freestyle snowboarder. He was also one of the most successful athletes in his discipline. The athlete wins the world championship four times. It also won the Big Air World Cup, the Billabong Air & Style in Innsbruck in 2009 and the O’Neil Evolution Slopestyle in 2010. He was also second in the 2008 World Cup and won medals at the X Games.
