Martin Lawrence joins Okieriete Onaodowan in the AMC comedy

The comedian, who returns to TV after 8 years, will play a recurring role.

The star of the franchise Bad Boys Martin Lawrence returns to television and does so in the AMC series Demascus. The American actor and comedian, who has been missing from the small screen since 2014, has signed on to play a recurring role in the AMC cable network comedy starring the former star of Station 19 Okieriete Onaodowan.

The plot of Demascus

Demascus, created by Tearrance Arvelle Chisholm who is also co-showrunner with Kirk Moore, is a sci-fi comedy that in 6 episodes follows the title Demascus, a 33-year-old black man (played by Onaodowan) who embarks on a journey to discover himself by delving into the world of digital psychiatry and using innovative new technology that allows him to experience different versions of his own life. The series follows the protagonist through those alternate realities as well as into his daily life.

The role of Martin Lawrence

Martin Lawrence – on tv last time in the sitcom Partners where he co-starred with Kelsey Grammer – will play Demascus’ uncle Forty, a man who has seen better days and is in poor health. Despite this, he is the self-proclaimed patriarch of the family and is eager to be recognized as such. The regular cast of the series also includes Janet Hubert, Caleb Eberhardt And Shakira Ja’nai Paye.
