Marvel series enlists RuPaul’s Drag Race star Shea Couleé

The series starring Dominique Thorne will soon arrive in streaming on Disney +.

A drag queen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? It will happen (maybe) in Ironheartone of the next series Marvel waited streaming on Disney +. Entertainment Weekly anticipates that the drag queen competitive reality star has signed on to a regular role in the series RuPaul’s Drag Race Shea Couleé.

The plot of Ironheart and the actors already announced

Written by Chinaka Hodge (Snowpiercer) and 6 episodes long, Ironheart will follow the actress of the two Oscar-winning film for Judas and the Black Messiah Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a genius inventor and creator of the most advanced armor since Iron Man. The series will be streaming at some point later Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverthe film in which Thorne will make his debut as the character also known as Ironheart and which is expected in American theaters in November 2022. From previous news we know that the cast of the series also includes the former star of This is Us Lyric Ross, Anthony Ramos (She’s Gotta Have It), Alden Ehrenreich (Solo: A Star Wars Story) And Manny Montana (Mayans MC).

Who will play Shea Couleé?

Of course, sources close to the production have not been able to reveal the details of the character entrusted to Shea Couleé nor have they been able to confirm whether he will appear in drag clothes or not. It should be noted, however, that this is not the first time a drag character has appeared in a Marvel product. In December of 2018, in the comic series Iceman A drag queen character called Darkveil / Darnell Wade was introduced who, as far as we know, was inspired by several personalities of Drag Race including Shea Couleé. At the moment we don’t know if the character of him in Ironheart will it have to do with Darkveil / Darnell Wade or whether it will be completely different.
