It was in an interview granted to the American site Variety that Sydney Sweeney confirmed that she would play the character of Julia Carpenter, alias Spider-Woman, in the next Sony film, “Madame Web”. The release in France is scheduled for February 14.
A superheroine who does not lack bite. Revealed in the series “Euphoria”, Sydney Sweeney confirmed in an interview with the American site Variety to have inherited the role of Julia Carpenter, alias Spider-Woman, in the next Sony film, “Madame Web”. The young woman was very enthusiastic about the role, revealing that she had bought all the comics in which Julia Carpenter appeared the day she had confirmation that the role was for her.
“I was hallucinating, of course,” she says of this. “I went straight to the comic store, and I bought all the ones that mentioned my character,” she continues. She wasn’t able to say much more, other than that she hoped to see Julia Carpenter join the MCU at some point. She also assures that “Madame Web” will be “different from what people expect from a superhero movie”.
It is Dakota Johnson who will play the main character on screen, Cassandra Webb, a blind and paralyzed woman who is also the mentor of the spider-man, and who is endowed with exceptional abilities such as telepathy or clairvoyance. Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Emma Roberts, Mike Epps, Adam Scott, or even Zosia Mamet complete the cast.
