The Alexander McQueen collections have remained enigmatic ever since Sarah Burton took over the creative reins following McQueen’s death (2010). At the London premiere of the film Oppenheimer, Emily Blunt donned one of the most sublime creations from the British house’s fall-winter 2023 collection, of which the orchid is the flagship motif. Everything about this dress covered in glass tubes emphasizes the shapes (oversized shoulder pads), the curves (the sinuous neckline) and the intricacy (the embroidery) of this flower as beautiful as it is resistant in nature. Diamond and emerald jewels by Lorraine Schwartz complete this graphic silhouette, not forgetting the famous Alexander McQueen knuckle-duster minaudière.
