We would like to remind you that last year Meghan Markle and Prince Harry resigned as official members of the British royal family. The couple moved to sunny California, where they quickly gained media attention after a high-profile interview with Oprah Winfrey. In it, they raised the issue of lies, lack of support and racism, which caused them to make a difficult decision. Meghan Markle then confessed that she was expecting a second child.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry rejected the title for Archie
The couple’s daughter was born on Friday June 4 at 11:40 am at a hospital in Santa Barbara, California. Her parents gave her two unique names.
Lili was named after her great-grandmother, her Majesty the Queen, whose pseudonym is Lilibet. Her middle name, Diana, was chosen as part of her beloved late grandmother, the Princess of Wales
– we read in the official announcement of the couple.
Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, like her older brother, does not hold a princely title. In the case of Archie, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry rejected him for a specific reason. As reported by “Telegraph”, the boy was to become Count Dumbarton. It is a Scottish aristocratic title, established in 1674, which was also awarded to Prince Harry on the day of his marriage to Meghan, along with the title of Baron Kilkeel.
The parents did not want their son to wear it due to the random coincidence of letters. “Dumbarton” starts with the word “dumb” which means dumb in English. So the parents feared that their child might get a nickname and that he would be bullied at school.
Not only Meghan Markle drew attention to the potential pitfalls in this title. They also worried Prince Harry
– the informant admitted in an interview with the portal.
According to the Telegraph, for Prince Harry, this was not the only reason he did not want his son to gain the princely title. The 36-year-old intended to follow in the footsteps of Princess Anna, who also did not give titles to her children – son Piotr and daughter Zara.
