For the Mercedes A-Class the time has come allow yourself a restyling. After rumors and spy photos, we can finally discover the news that the German manufacturer has decided to offer for this model. The A-Class will continue to be offered in both the Hatchback and the sedan variant. Prices for the Italian market have not yet been disclosed.
DESIGN AND INTERIORS
The restyling introduced some refinements to the design which allow you to refresh the look of the car. The main innovations are found at the level of the front where a series of adjustments to the grille, the headlights and the bumper stand out. As is often the case with restylings, there are also new designs for alloy wheels with dimensions up to 19 inches. We also find alloy wheels in glossy black for the AMG versions of the A-Class. There are also some changes to the diffuser and taillights.
Inside, we find the latest generation of the MBUX system. The instrumentation can count on a 7 or 10.25 inch screen. The infotainment, on the other hand, has a 10.25-inch display. From the first quarter of 2023, a fingerprint sensor for driver identification. Obviously there are the supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Also improved the voice assistant.
Mercedes has revised not only the steering wheel covered in nappa leather as standard, but also the center console which has been redesigned. From the basic setting up, the seats are upholstered in Artico leather. The AMG Line versions they can count on a series of specific details designed to recall the sporty nature of the model.
Faithful to its Ambition 2039 plan which aims to reduce CO2 emissions along the entire value chain and vehicle life cycle, more widespread use has been made of recycled materials. For example, the comfort seats feature fabrics in the middle section made from 100% recycled material.
With the restyling, the standard equipment was also improved. Already from the basic model we find, for example, the camera for assisted reversing, USB ports and the nappa leather steering wheel as already mentioned above. With the Progressive set-up, on the other hand, we also find LED headlights, seats with lumbar support and the Parking Package and Mirror Package as standard. Mercedes wanted to simplify the package offer to reduce complexity in the choice of accessories.
With the restyling there are also innovations on the front of driver assistance systems. The Driver Assistance Package, for example, includes Lane Keeping Assist whose intervention methods have been improved.
With the restyling, there are also new engine innovations. Now, all petrol engines offered are electrified. We find 4-cylinder units combined with 7 or 8-speed automatic transmissions. Next to Mild Hybrid petrolthe A-Class continues to offer diesel models in addition to the Plug-in variant who can count on one 15.6 kWh battery able to allow an autonomy in electric only between 70 and 82 km. Accumulator that can be recharged in alternating current at 3.7 kW or 11 kW (optional). The new A-Class Plug-in also offers the possibility of a full DC power supply of up to 22 kW of power. Furthermore, the new Plug-in model can count on an electric motor with a power of 5 kW higher than before (80 kW total).

On the front of the petrol engines, we have the A 180 models (100 kW / 136 hp); A 200 (120 kW / 163 hp); A 220 4 MATIC (140 kW / 190 hp); A 250 4MATIC (165 kW / 224 hp).
Speaking of diesel units, the A-Class is offered in the A 180 d models (85 kW / 116 hp); A 200 d (110 kW / 150 hp); A 220 d (140 kW / 190 hp).
Even with the restyling, the A-Class continues to be offered in the high-performance versions from AMG. Small tweaks to the look have made these sporty versions even more gritty. In addition, alloy wheels with a new design are available. As standard, we find the AMG Performance steering wheel and AMG sports seats.
On the technology side, of course, the same innovations as the “standard” A-Class stand out. The MBUX system can also count on customized graphics. A special limited edition series of the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S 4MATIC + called AMG Street Style Edition will be available for the launch, featuring exclusive features.
Speaking of engines, the Mercedes-AMG A 35 now features a mild hybrid unit. The gearbox is an 8-speed automatic.
