Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar appear in the Top 5 of the highest paid athletes in the world; see the list

The American magazine ‘Forbes’ released this Wednesday a list of the highest paid athletes in the world in the last 12 months. Among them, Messi leads the ranking, Cristiano Ronaldo comes in third and the Brazilian Neymar in fourth place. All cash, salary and bonus awards were taken into account.

+ Real Madrid intends to renew with Vinícius Júnior and new contract should triple the player’s salary

Messi is at the top of the list with a gain of 130 million dollars (about R$ 667 million). Despite the player’s salary having decreased by about 22 million dollars (about R$ 113 million) in relation to the last year of Barcelona, his loss was compensated by the increase in sponsorships.

The Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo occupies the third place in the ranking. Much of his earnings came from his massive presence on social media. The ace received a total of 115 million dollars (about R$ 621 million), of which 55 million dollars (about R$ 297 million) just for matters off the field.

Neymar, on the other hand, is the only Brazilian in the Top 10. The player received 95 million dollars (about R$486 million). The magazine highlights the amount of sponsorship of the athlete and his entry into the world of NFTs.
