Monfalcone Saturdays are lived in Corso

The market of modern and antiques, eight proposals from Cinema to Theater, appointments of Philosophy and literature, but also theatrical performances, music, Street Artists: from next October 8on Saturday of Monfalcone is Saturday in progress: so the municipal administration, after the redesign of Corso del Popolo already implemented last summer, wanted to give a further boost to the vitality and liveliness of the historic center, to bring the Corso back to its original dimension of via del Commercio and promenade.

The review starts on Saturday 8 October Saturday in progress will propose a series of appointments on Saturday, in Corso del Popolo and at the Theater, at times concurrent with the opening of commercial activities, proposed with the aim of giving a further boost to trade in one of the main streets of the historic center, even increasing pedestrian traffic.

It starts with the family cinema festival, eight recently released film screenings, offered free of charge on the screen of the Municipal Theater on Saturday afternoon (at 4 pm): on 8 October it opens with Cruella – prequel about young Estella, a brilliant scammer determined to make her way into the world of fashion, but who must fight her evil side – by Craig Gillespie, with Emma Stone, Emma Thompson, Joel Fry. October 22 is the turn of the adventurous Raya and the last dragon and November 5th Free Guy – Hero for playwith Ryan Reynolds, to discover a science fiction reality entirely aimed at children. Jungle Cruiseby Jaume Collet-Serra proposes a journey through a jungle full of animals on 12 November.

The review will then continue with other proposals, all of different kinds and all aimed at children and families, on 26 December, 14 January, 4 February and 11 March. All the shows are at 4 pm at the Municipal Theater and are free; No reservation is required.

On October 15th at 6.30 pm at the Municipal Theater Border Women by and with Bruna Braidottiwith classical and contemporary musical accompaniment by the quartet of flutists of the Amici della Musica Association of Udine, directed by Luisa Sello. In collaboration with the Arti e Mestieri Association and part of the regional project “The scene of women”, the musical recital traces the history of women who lived across borders, crossing war and geopolitical events: stories of displacements, escapes, exile in course of the twentieth century and until today.

On 22 October, the Flea market and modern antiques. The traditional “Mercatino della Rocca” – organized by the Cultural Association Mediterranean Bazaar – which for years has been a protagonist in the streets of the center of Monfalcone on the second and fourth Saturday of each month – on October 22 and November 26 it will also be the protagonist in Corso del Popolo from 8 to 16.30.

On November 19, the 2022-2023 drama season of the Municipal Theater of Monfalcone offers an unmissable appointment with Geppi Cucciari: last theatrical monologue written by Mattia Torre and with original music by Paolo Fresu, Perfect sees the absolute protagonist Geppi Cucciari, who on stage plays the multiple role of worker, wife and mother, in a life marked by family, work and responsibility. On November 26th at 8.30 pm the Municipal Theater hosts the final evening of the CantaFestival de la Bisiacariathe musical festival in dialect that this year reaches its eighteenth edition.

The Festival is directed by Carlo Blasini as artistic director, with the collaboration of Roberto Montanari as music coordinator and is organized by the Pro Loco of Monfalcone with the patronage of the FVG Region, the Municipalities and the Pro Loco of the Monfalconese district, with the contribution of the Cassa di Risparmio di Gorizia Foundation, the Municipality of Monfalcone and with the collaboration of cultural associations locals.

Judging the songs in the competition – like every year – three juries: the audience in the hall, the Jury of Municipalities with the mayors and presidents of the Pro Loco and the Artistic Jury made up of music experts and dialect lovers, who will have the task of designate the winning song. Furthermore, as tradition dictates, the interval will be cheered up by an artist coming directly from the stages of the most famous television comedy programs.

Stage of a multiplicity of appointments that will accompany the project for the coming months and that will be gradually revealed in the coming weeks, every Saturday the Theater and the Corso del Popolo will host events, entertainment, musical meetings, choral reviews, Gospel concerts and many dedicated initiatives to the whole family, to make every Saturday in Monfalcone a special occasion for entertainment and study.
