After five rounds of the group stage, Bayern Munich is sure of a victory in the Group E of the Champions League, which has accumulated a full 15 points so far. FC Barcelona is second with seven points and Benfica is third with two points behind. The last one is Dynamo Kiev, which has only gathered one point so far.
Before the last matchday, FC Barcelona has more points than Benfica Lisbon, but ahead of him is a much more difficult game. The Catalans will play FC Bayern away, while Benfica will take on Dynamo at home. And if the team from Lisbon wins, Barca will also need a win in Munich to be promoted, in order not to be knocked out of LM for the first time in 20 years in the group stage.
Nagelsmann calms down. “Greetings to Lisbon”
In Lisbon, it was feared that due to a certain promotion, Bayern Munich might treat the match against Barcelona lightly, the more so as it will be played with empty stands. The Portuguese were reassured, however, at the pre-match press conference by the coach of the German champions – Julian Nagelsmann.
– Don’t worry, we will be competing with the strongest possible team tomorrow. Greetings to Lisbon, don’t worry, said Nagelsmann.
This does not mean, however, that the German coach will have all his players at his disposal. – Leon Goretzka had to miss training again, so he won’t play tomorrow. Similarly, Serge Gnabry, who has a problem with the adductor after the match in Dortmund, said the Bayern coach, who added that it is also too early to play for Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting and Joshua Kimmich, who end their isolation after coronavirus infection.

If that was not enough, Nagelsmann will also not be able to take advantage of Marcel Sabitzer (he will be sidelined until the end of the year), Mickel Elizance, Josip Stanisic and Bouna Sarr, and the performance of Lucas Hernandez is in question.
– We don’t mean to throw Barca out, but to play another good game and score three points. We want to pass the perfect group stage, and we have a chance to break the shooting record. A sixth win would be a very valuable feat, Julian Nagelsmann explained.
Bayern Munich – FC Barcelona will be played on Wednesday 8 December at 20:45. The meeting in Munich will be held without the participation of the public.
