Natalie Portman: “Sex scenes are always uncomfortable”

Gwyneth Paltrow decided to leave Hollywood after the birth of her daughter Apple because she no longer wanted to be away from her family for filming which usually lasts several months.

The ‘Iron Man’ star has opened up about her decision to step away from the world of acting almost 20 years ago, admitting that the last time she had a lead role in a film was when she was pregnant with her first child and chose to step away from her career for the sake of her family.

She told PEOPLE: “It’s a little ironic because I really got away from acting when Apple was born. The last time I acted in every scene in a movie was when I was pregnant with her. When I had her, everything was redefined for me, and I said to myself: “I’m not sure I want to do this career. I absolutely don’t want to… I’m not going to leave for months.”

Gwyneth is mom to Apple, 19, and Moses, 17, with ex-husband Chris Martin. She is also a stepmother to her husband Brad Falchuk’s two children: son Brody, 17, and daughter Isabella, 19.

She now runs her wellness brand Goop and has made a few film appearances over the years, including in several of the Marvel “Avengers” films.

Gwyneth’s daughter Apple recently started Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, and the actress recently opened up about their relationship.

She told Bustle: “It’s so fun having a daughter that age, especially because she’s interested in clothes and skin and all that kind of stuff. She’s more feminine than me. She’s very talented.”
