Netflix looks back on the legal battle that ignited Hollywood in a new documentary series

The lawsuit that opposed Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard has rarely known such a frenzy. And for good reason, this legal battle which took place between 2020 and 2022 was entirely filmed; thus accounting for more than 200 hours of live and involving more public opinion than it should have.

This August, Netflix will return to this distressing defamation case that captivated the crowds before becoming the first lawsuit in the world to be played on TikTok.

For the first time, in a documentary series divided into Three parties (of 47 min each), subscribers will be able to follow the two testimonies in parallel but the program will also try to see a little further by questioning in particular the nature of the truth and the role it plays in our modern society.

Presenting the two testimonies in parallel for the first time, this series focuses on the trial that ignited Hollywood and the media fallout that followed.

Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard will be available on Netflix (outside the UK) from Wednesday, August 16, 2023. Note that the series was already broadcast last May on the British channel Channel 4.
