The next film by the most famous secret agent in the world is not expected to start filming for two years; second producer, the character will be reinvented
007 – No Time to Die (2021) marked the farewell of Daniel Craig from the paper of James Bond. Despite rumors about who will be the next secret agent, producer Barbara Broccoli has revealed that the first step in the search for a replacement has not yet been taken, as the next film in the franchise will mark a complete reinvention of the secret agent.
In an interview with Deadline, Broccoli stated that no one is up for the role yet. The new 007 still doesn’t have a script ready or a defined theme. The strategy is to start production on the film only in 2024.
“We are working out where to go with him, we are discussing it. There’s no script and we can’t come up with one until we decide how we’re going to approach the next movie. Because it’s actually a reinvention of Bond.”
Craig lived the role of James Bond for 15 years. In the last film in the skin of the most famous spy in the world, the actor made his farewell in an epic and emotional way.
In 007 – No Time to Die, Bond retires from the spy life, but is interrupted when an old CIA friend, Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright), asks for help locating scientist Valdo Obruchev (David Dencik). The film, which is the longest in the franchise at nearly three hours in length, was considered a success and surpassed U$ 700 million (R$ 3.65 billion) at box office.
In the search for a replacement, names such as Tom Holland (Spider-Man: No Homecoming), Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (Black Adam) and Regé-Jean Page (Bridgerton). None of them are confirmed in production.
