Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has announced the next season of its visual storytelling platform, the Embark with NCL series, with the first two-part episode, “Caribbean Adventures”, premiering tomorrow (30th) at 9pm.
After the first season, which recorded nearly 3 million views, this second season will focus on the high-caliber offerings on board and ashore, as well as the destinations most desired by guests, starting with the Caribbean. In addition, American television personality and world traveler Zay Harding will, as host of the Embark, lead viewers around the world throughout this season, chronicling his cruising adventures.
“Embark with NCL allows us to visually showcase the experiences we offer across our fleet, as well as the vacation moments that await our guests in a variety of destinations. This season, travelers will be able to discover or rediscover some of their favorite places and get a peek at the future of NCL with episodes dedicated to our next ship, the Norwegian Prima,” says NCL President and CEO Harry Sommer.
According to Christine da Silva, Senior Vice President of Branding and Communications, this new season brings content for travelers who may not be familiar with cruises. “Season one gave us the opportunity to connect with repeat guests as well as those who know us and have missed being at sea with us. The second is about the experience, about the food, entertainment and the places we visit,” she explains.
Three additional specials in the series will launch throughout the year, including the “Great Cruise Cookoff,” where NCL culinary champions battle it out in the kitchen for a chance to have their creations showcased aboard Norwegian Prima. The “Evolution of Innovation” will celebrate the brand’s history and its “firsts” legacy that propelled it to where it is today, about to launch the Prima Class, its next fleet of ships.
Finally, at the end of the season, presenter Harding will travel to Reykjavik, Iceland to attend the christening of Norwegian Prima. She will lead spectators to this celebration, where Godmother Katy Perry will not only fulfill the long maritime tradition of officially blessing and naming the Norwegian Prima, but will also perform during the christening ceremony before the new ship leaves for her maiden voyages.
The first episode of the new season can be watched this Thursday (30), at 9 pm, at www.ncl.com/embark. Additional premiere dates will be announced soon.
