Despite having already attended the tables in Las Vegas, the Paris-Saint Germain ace had never participated in an official WSOP event until this edition. After debuting in Event #26 ($10,000 Limit Hold’em Championship) a week ago, this Sunday the striker cashed for the first time in the series.
The prize pool came in Event #41 ($1,000 Super Turbo Bounty No-Limit Hold’em Freezeout), which received a total of 2,227 entries, with prizes for the top 335. Neymar survived the bubble burst and, until the publication of this article, is still alive in the tournament with 153 players left, already guaranteeing US$ 1,431. Update: hours later, the Brazilian dropped to 49th for a cash prize of $3,959.

According to PokerNews, the Brazilian’s entry into the ITM even had a curious situation. When he got up from the table at the moment of the bubble burst to talk to friends, among them André Akkari, a security guard would have approached Neymar to remove him from the hall, not realizing that the player of the lawns was alive in the tournament.
