Objectively, it’s hard to recognize her, Nicole Kidman. And not so much – or not only – for the proudly tense darting biceps or for the risky cut of the red mane. How much, above all, for the look unsettling and completely new, at least for her. Because we’re used to seeing and admiring her wrapped up in romantic and delicate, embroidered and precious dresses, like a contemporary princess, or at the most in couture creations bordering on the conceptual (as on the most recent Balenciaga catwalk). But we had never seen it as colorful, street and pop as in the images of the magazine shooting Perfect.

The 55-year-old Oscar-winning actress sports an outfit that combines two of the most significant pieces from the Fall-Winter 2022/23 collection by Dieseldesigned by Glenn Martens: a very colorful top with an American neckline with Japanese prints and a miniskirt with a maxi logo slightly higher than a large belt. The combo is disruptive. And Nicole is even more chameleon-like than we could have imagined she was: a true quick-change artist who is not afraid to play with her own style, even going so far as to overturn it.
The photo is part of a series of images, taken by photographer Zhong Lin, which celebrate pop culture from the pages of the third issue of the magazine, for which Kidman was (rightly) elected The Perfect Icon. A perfect icon, and also irresistibly surprising.
