From 10 to 18 in four stations set up by the Municipality in the spaces of via Tasso 2. It is necessary to book an appointment: here’s how.
Saturday 15 October is “Cie day”, or the day dedicated to the electronic identity card which for the occasion will be honored to citizens who book the service. Bergamo is among the top 5 cities in Italy for the number of electronic identity cards issued. In 2022 alone, the municipal offices of the capital issued 11 thousand new documents and by now 57% of citizens have replaced the old paper document with the new electronic card. A percentage that is higher than the national average, standing at 52%. Bergamo is also a virtuous city in terms of waiting times: thanks to the unique booking system it has been possible to eliminate the queues at the counters and currently you get your appointment with only 8 days of waiting.
Saturday 15 October, from 10 am to 6 pm, for eight hours the citizens residing in the capital will be given the opportunity to obtain free of charge, thus saving the 22.2 euros necessary to complete the fulfillment.
To enjoy the service, just go to the portal www.prenotabergamo.it (but you can also call from Monday to Friday, from 9 to 13, at the numbers 035399333 or 800292110) and reserve one of the time slots provided for the release of the document. For the occasion, the Municipality of Bergamo will set up 4 electronic card dispensing points in the spaces of via Tasso at number 2, at the corner with Piazza Cavour. To obtain the electronic identity card it takes about 15 minutes and consequently the municipal administration expects to be able to issue about 130 new documents on Saturday 15 October alone.
«The intention – he explains Giacomo Angeloni, municipal councilor for demographic services – is to accompany our fellow citizens along the path of change linked to electronic paper, illustrating, with a gazebo that we will set up in the churchyard of San Bartolomeo sul Sentierone, the possible advantages of the new document. The 130 who book for Saturday 15 October will also be able to obtain the CIE without paying the tax usually due to the State: the cost normally due will be covered by the Bergamo Smart City association ».
