OFFICIAL: We know the Brazilian champion 2021. Triumph after 50 years break

Atlético Mineiro secured the Brazilian title last night.

In the 66th minute, Atlético Mineiro lost to Bahia 0: 2, but still managed to make up for the losses and took the lead. It was achieved thanks to Hulk’s goal from the penalty spot and two hits from Marcos da Silva França, i.e. Keno. With a 3-2 victory, the team from Belo Horizonte sealed the Brazilian championship in the 2021 season.

Atlético have won 81 points in 36 league games to date. He has only two games left, while his advantage over the second in the Flamengo table (three more games) is 11 “points”. The team from Rio de Janeiro will surely not catch up with him.

Atlético’s top scorer is the aforementioned Hulk. The 35-year-old forward, formerly a Zenit or FC Porto player, contributed to the championship by scoring 18 goals, to which he contributed seven assists. The team led by Cuca does not lack other players known from their performances in Europe, such as Diego Costa (he joined her in the middle of the year), Guilherme Arany and Eduardo Vargas.

For Atlético, this is the second championship in history. The first one fell prey to him in 1971, i.e. exactly 50 years ago.

A dozen or so years ago, the team from Belo Horizonte struggled with great financial problems, which resulted in a relegation from the Brazilian league in 2005. However, the club quickly returned to the elite. In 2013 he won the Copa Libertadores.
