OFFICIAL: Yusuf Demir has left FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona has announced that it has reached an agreement with Rapid Vienna on the shortening of Yusuf Demir’s loan.

The gifted player was brought in with the reserve team in mind, but staffing problems saw Ronald Koeman joining the first team.

The right winger’s debut took place in the second round of the league. Soon after, he also appeared in the Champions League for the first time.

Over time, confidence in the 18-year-old diminished, and his situation was not saved by the arrival of Xavi.

The Spaniard decided that he would no longer need Yusuf Demir, especially with the contracting of Ferran Torres. At the same time, he remembered the fact that exhibiting an Austrian would entail the obligation to spend ten million euros for him. This is how much the redemption clause was established.

With all this in mind, FC Barcelona eventually decided to contact Rapid Vienna in order to cut the player’s loan short. An agreement was reached, and the four-time representative of the Austrian senior team returned to the home team.

At the same time, Rapid announced the extension of the contract with Demir until June 30, 2024.

Demir’s adventure with the Catalan club ends with nine appearances.
