Olympic snowboard champion will be quarantined in Beijing

“After I have made my personal decision not to vaccinate, quarantine is a logical consequence. I respect the rules of the authorities and the International Olympic Committee, wrote the Swiss woman, due to fly to China this week.

The 34-year-old, three-time World Cup winner in her competition, has not yet been officially entered into the Swiss Olympic team, but meets all the sport criteria for a start in Beijing.

Entry into the “closed Olympic loop” is possible for unvaccinated people (who are not medically exempted from vaccination) after undergoing a 21-day quarantine and receiving negative test results. Juvenile athletes (up to 17 years of age) from Russia, and possibly from other countries, will be released from quarantine.

Vaccinated people can join the closed system after receiving two QR codes certifying that they are not infected with the coronavirus.

The games will start on February 4 and will last until February 20. Snowboarding and classic competitions will be held in the mountainous region of Zhangjiakou.
