Ever since Gigi Hadid shared to its 75 million Instagram followers his vodka pasta recipe, the “spicy vodka sauce” has become the new target of foodistas 2.0.
On TikTok, the trend has been repeated millions of times, each trying to deliver their personal trick. This mixture of tomatoes, parmesan, flambéed with vodka may seem surprising. And yet, beyond being viral, it is an Italian-American classic very popular among posh restaurants in Manhattan. On the web or IRL, al dente or fondant, this fun and quirky recipe will melt all pasta lovers.

The express recipe for vodka pasta by Gigi Hadid
Brown the garlic and shallot in the pan, with 4 tbsp. tablespoon olive oil. Add 4 tbsp. tablespoon tomato purée and cook until it starts to caramelize. Add a tbsp. vodka and flambé. Add a pinch of crushed pepper as well as 12 cl of heavy cream.
Meanwhile, cook the pasta. When draining, keep some cooking water. Then add the pasta to the rest of the preparation with the cooking water and a piece of butter. Stir and sprinkle with parmesan. Most ? A few basil leaves on top. For those who wish, the non-alcoholic version is just as delicious!
