The fifth generation astra is currently being manufactured in the Opel factory in Gliwice, which belongs to the Stellantis concern. The production of this model started in 2015. A year ago, the management of the PSA concern, to which Opel belonged, even before the merger with Fiat and the creation of the Stellantis concern, decided that the sixth generation astra would be produced in Germany.

Thus, the Gliwice passenger car factory will close after 23 years. Probably in 2022, Stellantis will start the production of vans in Gliwice. However, they will be produced in a new factory, which has been built next to the closed plant for two years.
