Dior Goodjohn, Olivea Morton and Charlie Bushnell have joined the cast of the Disney+ adaptation of Percy Jackson.
The three will be respectively Clarisse La Rue, Nancy Bobofit and Luke Castellan. Goodjohn and Bushnell will appear as recurring guest stars, with Morton set to guest star. The trio unites with the protagonist of the series Walker Scobell and co-stars Aryan Simhadri and Leah Sava Jeffries. Also cast as recurring roles Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally and Timm Sharp.
Clarisse La Rue is described as a daughter of Ares, god of war. Clarisse is a competitive fighter who lets nothing stand in the way of her victory. Intensely loyal to her friends, she intimidates newcomers like Percy.
Dior Goodjohn recently appeared in the reboot of “Distinguishing Marks: Genie” on HBO Max. She has also appeared in “Are you afraid of the dark?”, “Glee” and “Rooms to Raven”.
Luke Castellan is the advisor to the Hermes Hut and the coolest kid on the block, Luke seems more comfortable with a surfboard than Greek armor. That doesn’t stop him from being the best swordsman around.
This will be the second television role of Charlie Bushnell’s career. He previously appeared in the Disney+ series “Elena, I Will Be President.”
It is said that Nancy Bobofit always expresses her opinion at the expense of others. Loud, proud, and a favorite of teachers, she Nancy takes particular pleasure in making fun of Percy. This will be the first major television role of Olivea Morton’s career.
The live-action Percy Jackson series will tell the fantastical story of the twelve-year-old modern demigod of the same name (Walker Scobell) who must accept the reality that he has supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his lightning bolt. With the help of his friends Grover (Aryan Simhadri) and Annabeth (Leah Jeffries), Percy will face the adventure of a lifetime to find the lightning bolt and restore order to Olympus.
Riordan and Jon Steinberg are writing the pilot script, while James Bobin is directing. The production is by 20th Television.
