Directed by Academy Award winner Robert Zemeckis, Pinocchio revisits in a live action the beloved story of a wooden puppet who embarks on an exciting adventure to become a real child. Tom Hanks plays Geppetto, the wood carver who builds and cares for Pinocchio (Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) as if he were his son. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is the Jiminy Cricket, guide of Pinocchio and “conscience” of him; Academy Award nominee Cynthia Erivo is the Blue Fairy; Keegan-Michael Key is the Fox; Academy Award nominee Lorraine Bracco is Sofia the Seagull, a new character; and Luke Evans is the Postillion.
The film is produced by Robert Zemeckis, Derek Hogue, Andrew Miano, Chris Weitz and Paul Weitz, while Jackie Levine, Jack Rapke, Alexandra Derbyshire and Jeremy Johns are executive producers.
The film is not to be confused with what Guillermo del Toro is making for Netflix:
