(ANSA) – FLORENCE, 11 JUN – Pitti Uomo 102 warms up and prepares for an edition that could mark the halfway point after two years of postponements, cancellations, digital events and downsizing due to the pandemic. The event returns to take place over 4 days, from 14 to 17 June, again at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence, where a total of 640 brands (38% from abroad) will be exhibiting the spring-summer 2023 collections, including the ‘big names’ of the show , including Brunello Cucinelli. It is a number that is always lower than the pre-pandemic levels, but still growing compared to past editions.
There will also be moments of reflection on the war in Ukraine: at Armata di Mare, street artist and gallery owner Giovanna Colomba will decorate two camouflage parkas, a symbol of war, live in the stand, transforming them into a symbol of peace. The 2 unique pieces will then be sold and the proceeds donated to support Ukrainian children. Then there will be a special area where some Ukrainian brands are hosted: Bobkova, Gudu, Gunia, Guzema, Katerina Kvit, Litkovskaya, Manufacture De Lin, Oberig, Poustovit, Viktoranisimov, Yulia Yefimtchuk. The Red brand instead writes the message directly on its iconic model, the socks, now with the words ‘No to war’.
