PlayStation Now Will Not Follow Xbox Game Pass, the First Party Titles Do Not Start Immediately

According to Jim Ryan, the biggest PlayStation 4 exclusives will not arrive immediately on PlayStation Now, subscribers will have to wait.

PlayStation Now will not follow the Xbox Game Pass route. According to Jim Ryan, who spoke about it in an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, the first party titles will not be included in the launch service.

Ryan: ”¬†It is a fluid and rapidly evolving field. The nature and size of some of the first-party games that we are making have convinced us that for now, it is better to spend our energies to make sure we launch them as massive entertainment events.¬†Let me mention God of War and Spider-Man, but also the Last of Us 2, due out next year, falls into this category.¬†“

the statement of the president of PlayStationcomes about a month after the PlayStation Now price cut and the addition of important games like Uncharted 4: End of a Thief, Infamous: Second Son and God of War, all first-party titles.

Ryan: ”¬†At the moment this is our position. But our view on the inclusion of the first-party games in PlayStation Now in terms of what we did this month is very different from what we had twelve months ago. I don’t mean that PlayStation Now will follow this model forever, but for now, given the value of some of our first-party intellectual properties, we want to manage them with great care and respect and have clean and pure launches.¬†“
