The PlayStation Plus update for October 2022 sees the introduction of Hot Wheels Unleashed, Injustice 2 and SUPERHOT in the Sony service catalog.
October 2022 looks like another not-so-exciting month for subscribers PlayStation Plus, whatever their level of subscription. In fact, three games of quality and belonging to very different genres, but at the same time old and / or distant from the perception of triple A, arrive in the Sony service catalog.
Let’s talk specifically about Hot Wheels Unleashed, the arcade racer developed by the Italian team Milestone and inspired by the famous collector cars produced by Mattel; from Injustice 2, the latest installment in the NetherRealm Studios fighting game series, the creators of Mortal Kombat; and finally of SUPERHOTa fascinating mix of shooter and strategy that has already become a classic.
Did the readers of Multiplayer.it like the October line-up? Again, in principle, no: according to our survey, 46% of users said they were not satisfied at all and 27% unsatisfied, for a total of negative feedback equal to 73% which confirms the feeling of a slowdown by Sony as regards the actual value of the games offered.
Hot Wheels Unleashed (PS5 and PS4)
The iconic collectible cars of Mattel they are the protagonists of a racer developed by the Italian experts of Milestone, which brings to the screen spectacular “miniature” races in which you run inside various areas of the house. In short, Hot Wheels Unleashed stands as a tie-in that makes competence its flag, involving us in different ways.
Beyond the quick stipulations, the core of the experience is represented by Hot Wheels City Rumblea variation on the theme of the traditional career in which we will find ourselves exploring the tables of a Game of the Goose-style billboard, but with new events at each destination and the possibility of trying their hand at timed races, fast races and even boss fights that they involve completing the challenge by aiming to meet certain conditions.
The end result is a different driving game than usual, which Hot Wheels fans will find really exciting, all the more so because of the Track Builder integrated in the package, which allows you to create your own tracks from scratch and share them with the community. We talked about this and more in the Hot Wheels Unleashed review.
Injustice 2 (PS4)
Set in an alternate DC universe, in which Superman has gone mad after the killing of Lois Lane and decided to control the world with an iron fist, establishing a totalitarian state that Batman and other heroes have opposed, Injustice 2 is the latest fighting game in the series by NetherRealm Studios, the development team author of the famous Mortal Kombat.
In this chapter, a new threat looms on the horizon: the mighty and evil Brainiac, a cybernetic entity from space that colonizes and destroys all planets in its path and that has just landed on Earth. Will Supergirl, Batman and Superman himself be able to stop her advance? The Injustice 2 review.
SUPERHOT (PS4)
Originally released in 2016, SUPERHOT has become over the years a true classic, a title capable of mixing in a never so original way shooter and strategy mechanics to catapult us into sequences that are composed one frame at a time and therefore see us planning every single action with the aim of cleaning different rooms from the presence of enemies.
The game, characterized by an absolutely minimal style, moves only when we want: the character we control is stationary, gun in hand, and when he advances time begins to flow again, also determining the reactions of the opponents. Using a rich arsenal of weapons and an available seconds indicator, will we be able to reach the exit after taking out every single threat? SUPERHOT’s review.
