As reported in the press release, due to the pandemic situation in Poland, Poczta Polska SA expects a significant increase in demand for courier and parcel services during the upcoming holiday season, by at least 60 percent. compared to previous months. As a result, the company is getting ready to handle up to twice as many shipments as the average for the year – including Black Friday.
“Poczta Polska intends to employ about 1,500 people to work in sorting plants and drivers. As part of the recruitment campaign, our company offers contracts of mandate” – said Justyna Siwek, spokeswoman for Poczta Polska, quoted in the press release.
According to the spokeswoman of the Post Office, the offer concerns mainly people who would like to improve their budget before Christmas, “therefore there is an option to start work without having to change the permanent place of employment, and therefore interesting for people who are looking for an additional source of income and would like to work at different times of the day” .
In the press release of the Post it was emphasized that work in the sorting plant does not require additional qualifications and experience. Only drivers are required to have a driving license of the appropriate category (allowing to drive vehicles up to 3.5 t or over 3.5 t depending on the selected offer). “The assumption is that the offer applies to work until the end of the year, but in certain cases it is possible to extend the cooperation” – stated in the press release.
Employees of postal sorting parcels are sought primarily in Warsaw, Lisie Ogon (Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship), Niepołomice, Zabrze, Łódź, Wrocław and Komorniki, and drivers in Warsaw, Wrocław, Bydgoszcz, Szczecin, Olsztyn, Białystok, Toruń, Niepołomice, Gdynia , Katowice, Łódź.
As stated in the company’s information, the rates for employees depend on the location and are for drivers up to 3.5 t – from 19 to 24 PLN per hour, drivers over 3.5 t from 20 to 26 PLN per hour, sorting employees – from 18.50 to 24 PLN per hour.
