“Poor Things”: Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo and Willem Dafoe in the cast of the new film by Yorgos Lanthimos
“Poor Things” is an adaptation of the novel by Alasdair Gray from 1992 entitled “Poor beings”. The plot of the book fits perfectly into the non-obvious style of the Greek filmmaker, as it focuses on the figure of a mad scientist, or more specifically a medical student, who performs an unusual procedure bringing a beautiful young suicide woman back to life by implanting her in the brain of an unborn child. This is how Bella Baxter (Emma Stone) from the outside is a seductive woman, and inside it hides the mind of a little girl.
Gray’s novel is a Victorian-era quasi-documentary that poses a pastiche of a Frankenstein story by Mary Shelley. “Poor Beings” are full of literary and historical allusions that make up a story about love and daring discoveries (both scientific and life). It is not yet known who the stars involved in the film will play, but it can be suspected that one of them will play the role of Dr. Baxter.

They will also take care of the production Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe from Element Pictures studio, which was responsible for all English-language films of the Greek artist. She will also be a producer Emma Stone through your Fruit Tree Company. “Poor Things” movie release date has not yet been announced.
