Over 60 percent of the net assets of the PPK were invested in shares, over one third in bonds. Equally 20%, i.e. almost PLN 1.5 billion today, was invested in foreign securities. Over PLN 3 billion on the WSE – writes in the Wednesday edition of “Rzeczpospolita”.

The newspaper reminds that for the safety of the participants of the employee capital plan program, but also for their efficient multiplication, it has been decided that they will be invested in various types of securities not only in the country but also abroad.

“The data collected at our request by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority shows that at the end of the third quarter of 2021, 61.1% of the savings that went to employee capital plans were invested in equity instruments, mainly in shares. Another 35.2% % was allocated to treasury debt instruments, primarily bonds, and 2.7% to corporate debt securities. Equally 20% of PPK assets were invested abroad, mainly in shares “- we read.

He adds that the PFSA did not provide the amount values of individual types of investments, but it is easy to calculate them. The data of the Polish Development Fund, which supervises the development and operation of PPK, shows that their net assets today amount to PLN 7.21 billion. “This means that almost PLN 1.5 billion has been invested in foreign securities so far (this is the likely state for today, calculated based on the percentage data from the end of September). Interestingly, 20% of PPK assets invested abroad is the lower limit of what what you can invest there under this program. It can be up to 30 percent. ” – we read.

Rzeczpospolita quotes Bartosz Marczuk, vice-president of the Polish Development Fund, who points out that 21 percent. those who save in PPK are people between 18 and 29 years of age. “So every fifth person is a person up to the age of 30. And the next over 73 percent are people between 30 and 54 years of age. The average participant of the PPK is therefore a relatively young person” – he says in Rzeczpospolita.

In his opinion, this is good news, because a younger participant will have a better chance to accumulate more savings in the PPK. But of course, putting money aside in this program is not only good for young people, it says. (PAP)
