A morning session and the match with Nottingham Forest marked the fourth and penultimate day of the rosanero retreat in Manchester. Defender Davide Bettella did not take part in the friendly match with the English team, after completing training yesterday, he suffered from muscle fatigue. The test ended with the result of 1-0 for Corini’s team, thanks to a goal from Soleri. For the record, it should be noted that the Premier club was in a reworked formation.
The player will be re-evaluated by the medical-health staff in the coming days. The test against Nottingham Forest, coached by Steve Cooper, helped Corini to try to develop some technical-tactical automatisms, especially in the offensive phase. Nottingham is a historic Premier League club, the third oldest in the world among professionals, founded in 1865.
Between 1977 and 1980 the club experienced its best moment: an English championship, two League Cups, a Charity Shield, two European Cups (consecutive: 1978-79, 1979-80) and a Uefa Super Cup.
Tomorrow morning the rosanero will take the field for the last training session in England and in the afternoon they will return to Palermo. Preparation for the next match against Sudtirol will resume on Monday.
At the end of the match Eugenio Corini is satisfied, who has glimpsed many positive things from his team: “We have created so much today with the selection of Nottingham – said the rosanero coach, as reported by Mediagol – but we have to work on finalization. Today we have often kicked. towards the goal and this is the important thing. I’m happy with this growth. Football has changed with the five strategic changes, it depends on how a game is oriented, I can play with a double striker and two attacking hairpin bends. Today I got good indications by fielding forward Floriano, Valente, Soleri and Vido. We go home with the awareness that the City Group strongly believes in Palermo and has made it clear from how they welcomed and treated us “.
