The grenades close the Cairo Mum and Dad Trophy in fourth place
The Mole derby and the third place in the Memorial Trophy Mamma and Papa Cairo go to Juventus, who won 3-1 at Quattordio. Scurto’s Torino pays a heavy start, with the Bianconeri leading by two goals after 10 ‘. Then the grenades shorten the distance with Savva, but are unable to reopen the race. Torino thus closes in fourth and last place the summer appointment with the trophy dedicated to the parents of the grenade president Urbano Cairo.
Compared to the semi-final with Milan, there are many news in the eleven chosen by Scurto for the derby. Among the confirmations there is Brezzo in goal and Opoku in the role of left-back, the rest of the defense is unprecedented with the central couple Bura-Rettore in Gaj on the right. In midfield we see Weidmann as a midfielder on the right, flanked by Ruszel as a central and Dalla Vecchia as a left midfielder. The offensive trio is unprecedented: Ansah makes the first striker, Ali Savva and Njie.
A burning start for Torino, called to deal with a cynical Juventus right from the start. If the first pocketed bears the signature of Ansah, it is in fact then the Bianconeri to raise the pace. Yildiz makes good use of his first chance, running away from the line of the grenade defenders and finding the advantage with a dirty shot on which Brezzo arrives, without being able to avoid the 1-o bianconero. Juventus doubled in the 9th minute even more quickly, with Mbangula flying away and finding the 2-0 goal. Torino becomes more incisive in the last quarter of an hour of the first fraction, taking advantage of Gaj’s crosses from the right and a generous Ansah. Meanwhile Juventus hits Strudonck’s crossbar. The best chance of the grenade comes at the end, nice exchange in the area between Weidmann and Njie, with the last one who goes to the shot finding the prompt response of Daffara.
In the second half immediately in the fray Dembele, tried unlike the usual on the left wing in place of Opoku. Shortly after, he too touched Azizi, called to take the place of Dalla Vecchia. Half an hour before the end, we see a more proactive Toro in the offensive phase: Weidmann tries from a distance, Daffara still blocks. Even more sensational is the exchange between Ansah and Njie, with the second ahead of the Juventus defense but imprecise in the diagonal too strangled, finished wide. For the finale, fresh forces with Gineitis and Marchioro in place of Weidmann and Njie. The goal that shortens the distance, however, arrives in the 64th minute and rekindles the hopes of the grenade. It is signed by Savva, who finds the winning tap-in. Juve immediately tries to restore the accounts, but Brezzo gets longer and avoids the goal. To try to make up for the disadvantage, the Taurus must inevitably be discovered. Juventus took advantage of it and found the 3-1 counterattack with Anghelé. In the end a couple of grenade blasts, but not enough to reopen the games. The derby of the Mole goes to Juventus, who wins third place.
