According to the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, during Morawiecki’s talks with Cormann, global issues will be discussed, including the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border and cooperation for the development of the Eastern Europe region.

“The European Union’s activities in the nature of a hybrid war. Illegal migration, organized with the participation of Belarusian services, is intended to destabilize the political situation and threaten the security of Poland and the European Union, ”the Prime Minister’s Chancellery emphasized in the press release.

As emphasized, the dangerous activities of a hybrid war have a direct impact on the economy and the increase in energy and gas prices. The Chancellery of the Prime Minister also emphasized that the increase in energy and gas prices throughout Europe was caused, inter alia, by by completing the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. As announced, at the meeting of the Prime Minister with the OECD Secretary General, “the issue of the supply chain, which would stabilize the situation on the energy market, will be discussed.”

According to PAP information from the President’s Chancellery, President Andrzej Duda will also talk to Mathias Cormann on Monday; the meeting will be held at 15.30 at the Presidential Palace.

In the statement of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, it was emphasized that Cormann would visit Poland for the first time since his appointment as the secretary general of the OECD on June 1 this year.

The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development brings together 37 highly developed and democratic countries. Its aim is to help Member States to achieve the highest possible levels of economic growth, employment and living standards. The OECD also contributes to the balanced economic development and promotes the development of world trade.


Poland was admitted to the organization in 1996, which influenced, inter alia, for a wider opening of the Polish economy and the improvement of its competitiveness and productivity; thanks to the OECD, there was also an increase in foreign trade and capital exchange – emphasized the Chancellery of the Prime Minister in a press release. The Chancellery of the Prime Minister also informed that – on the occasion of the jubilee of Poland’s membership in the OECD – the Ministry of Development and Technology organizes, inter alia, seminars, publications and conferences with international guests. As emphasized, the Permanent Representation to the OECD in Paris also created spots promoting knowledge about Poland. The Chancellery of the Prime Minister announced that a film on the anniversary of Poland’s membership in the OECD is also available.
