The National Television Awards presents the biggest TV events of the year. When a video showing everything that was most important on TV was released on a large screen, the gathered guests booed one moment – excerpts from the conversation between Harry and Meghan with Oprah Winfrey. While viewers watching the ITV broadcast did not hear it, an informant told the Daily Mail that the whistles were loud.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry booed
The event, held at the London O2 Arena, gathers the cream of British show business. The audience’s reaction would mean Meghan and Harry are not very well-liked among the island celebrities.
It was as if the main villains appeared on the stage during the performance, the source of the journal reports.
Some screamed, others laughed. There were a few people embarrassed by this reaction, but it turned out that Meghan is not very popular – reports another participant of the gala.
During a lengthy interview with Oprah in March, the pair accused one of the royal family members of racism: he was asked to ask “little Archie’s dark skin color”. They also talked widely about insensitivity, manipulations, and Meghan even mentioned a suicide attempt. And that no one helped her.
The interview met with a harsh reaction from the British public. The couple were told that they were not telling the truth, washing family secrets in public at a time when Prince Philip was seriously ill, and Oprah that she did not ask her interlocutors anything at all.
Recall that Meghan and Harry’s interview is nominated for an Emmy.
