PSG’s under-provided midfield
Paris Saint-Germain is slowly managing to wind down its dwindling operations. Icardi, Bitshiabu and Dina-Ebimbe are gone, Abdou Diallo and Neymar are both on track, as well as Leandro Paredes and Renato Sanchez. The latter two are expected at AS Roma in the coming days. First by way of permanent transfer, second by way of loan which option to buy would become mandatory under the terms. Departures that would be good for PSG’s finances, but less so for its workforce.
The midfielder would find himself deprived of two additional solutions. Luis Enrique will also have to do without bypassing the services of Marco Verratti. The Spanish coach relied on Ugarte, Zaire-Emery and Vitinha in the draw against Lorient. A medium certainly promising, but undoubtedly soft, and one that will require depth. With that in mind, PSG are looking for a new environment Team, A creative and aggressive profile is targeted.
Internal solution as a last resort?
One player who could have been Bernardo Silva. However, the Portugal international is closer to an extension – or FC Barcelona – than PSG. So the chances of this track being successful are slim. Similarly, there are no Legion profiles available in this period of the transfer window. There is no doubt that Luis Campos will continue to dig in, but the club will not force the arrival if it is irrelevant.
In this case, Luis Enrique will have to do with the available means. Kang-in Lee could be a solution. The South Korean player is a winger, but he can also play as a torch bearer or as an attacking midfielder. He did this in Mallorca in the past. The return of Mbappe and the integration of Dembele could provide them with this option. Similarly, Carlos Soler and Fabian Ruiz are also options despite appearing quite low down the order. According to PSG’s next results, an arrival to strengthen the midfield cannot be ruled out.
