Two Argentine fans have told their nightmare: after being beaten by a group of Mexicans, they were detained inside the stadium for several hours.

“While we were watching the game, 4-5 Mexicans started insulting us shouting ‘Argentinian f**k’. They pushed my son from behind – said the fan – and a very hard fight broke out from there. There was total disorganization, we were in an area with many more Mexicans but that doesn’t justify coming to insult and beat us. First they took me to the infirmary for treatment, then they kept us 5 hours without phones. We had to make some statements and a video call with the Qatari prosecutor.”
