Tomorrow 30 November, the last act for groups C and D. Everything is still possible in both, with France the only team of the eight involved, to be sure of the round of 16. The big match is in the evening, with Poland and Argentina at risk of elimination. Saudi Arabia and Australia are looking for an historic but possible passage of the round.
Australia-Denmark, 4 pm: Inside-out match for Australia and Denmark, engaged in a play-off for the round of 16. The unknown factor in the group remains the result of Tunisia, which could reach second place with a surprise victory against France. A draw could be enough for Australia, while the Danes are bound to win. Hjulmand’s side have scored exactly two goals in six of their eight matches played in 2022, with the only two exceptions being the World Cup matches.
Tunisia-France, 4 pm: Still a small, very small hope for Tunisia, which is called to the challenge against the reigning world champions. To pass, Australia must not win their match. A practically certain turnover for France, who will still want to snatch a victory that is useful for morale and also for statistics, given that the only time they have closed the group stage with three wins is dated 1998, the year of their first World Cup victory.
Saudi Arabia-Mexico, 8pm: Emotionally intense round with all the verdicts still open. For Mexico, the situation is complex. Winning may not be enough, as a draw or a win for Argentina would exclude them from the round of 16. Furthermore, the Mexicans have never scored in their last four World Cup matches, collecting one draw and three defeats. Saudi Arabia, on the other hand, is looking for the three points to continue dreaming after the victorious debut against Messi and his companions. The defeat to Poland may have been painless if Al Dawsari & Co managed to beat Mexico and Argentina failed to win.
Poland-Argentina, 8pm: Lewandowski has unblocked himself, and Poland can go back to dreaming. Only one point will be enough for the Poles to pass to the round of 16. However, they will face the Argentina of an unleashed Messi, author of a goal and an assist in the last match against Mexico, the most emotionally difficult one after the terrible defeat against Saudi Arabia. The South Americans start with the favor of the forecast, also considering that they have always scored against Poland.
