Razzie Awards 2023: all the nominations of the anti-Oscars

As usual i Razzie Awards take place the day before the Oscars, the nominations for the awards dedicated to the worse than Hollywood cinematography they arrived a few hours before those of the Academy. And it seems, as usual, to live in an upside down world, i.e. one in which instead of rewarding excellence one goes looking for, with a little irony and sense of paradox, what were the most disappointing performances – so to speak – of the film year that has just ended. And of course there are surprises.

While on the one hand, in fact, this year’s Razzie Awards are dominated by a controversial and highly criticized film such as the disturbing Blondededicated to Marilyn Monroe, on the other among the most named we find a sacred monster like Tom Hanks: his portrayal of Geppetto in the frankly forgettable Pinocchio has not gone unnoticed, but what is striking is his double nomination as well as worst supporting actor in the film Elvis, a character guilty of too much fake fiction. Among the other “on the contrary” nominations, then, both sequels to the Netflix erotic film cannot be missing 365 days and also titles of great sagas which, however, have largely disappointed in the room, such as Morbius And Jurassic World: Domination.

Obviously, these nominations sometimes also stir up some controversy: this is the case, for example, of the nomination for worst actress of Ryan Kiera Armstrongprotagonist of Firestarters who is just 12 years old and perhaps deserved more leniency. Criticisms aside, who will win among these not exactly exciting films? The appointment with the Razzie Awards 2023 is precisely for next weeksjust before the official Oscars.
