Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated the strong Kolkata Knight Riders with the help of bowlers. Wanindu Hasranga and Akash Deep devastated the Kolkata team by taking seven wickets. The batsmen were going to ruin this performance of the bowlers, but somehow the team’s boat was crossed. Dinesh Karthik and Harshal Patel gave the team victory with four balls to spare.
turning point of the match
1. Giving 19th over to inexperienced Venkatesh Iyer: RCB needed 17 runs to win in the last two overs. Here Kolkata captain Shreyas Iyer handed over the bowling to inexperienced Venkatesh Iyer. Dinesh Karthik and Harshal Patel took advantage of this and scored 10 runs in the over. With this, only seven runs were left for victory in the last over.
2. Kolkata team could not run out Karthik: Kolkata’s team could not run out their former captain Dinesh Karthik. In the 19th over, Karthik played a shot in the off-side off Venkatesh Iyer. During this, there was a lack of coordination between him and Harshal Patel and both the batsmen came to the same crease. Kolkata had an easy chance to turn the match by running out Karthik, but they missed it.
How was the performance of both the captains?
Faf du Plessis looked much better during fielding than in the previous match. He used the bowlers well. Also consulted Dinesh Karthik and Virat Kohli. Du Plessis is not considered to be a very attacking captain, but in the match against Kolkata, he was seen in exchange. Used the bowlers properly and did not allow the opposition team to score runs. On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy did not show the same edge as the first match. It may be that due to the small score, they have not been able to rotate the bowlers properly. In fielding too, it was seen many times that there is no player in the right place.

What happened in the match for RCB?
positive side: After a long time in the IPL, it has been seen that the RCB team has won with the help of the middle order after the failure of the top order. The first three batsmen scored a total of 17 runs. After this, David Willey, Sherfane Rutherford and Shahbaz Ahmed took the team close to victory and Dinesh Karthik along with Harshal Patel finished the match.
RCB’s bowling, which did not save the score of 205 in the last match, looked better in this match. He did not even allow runs to be scored off 65 balls. Hasrang, Akashdeep and Harshal Patel wreaked havoc. Now it remains to be seen how the team bowls in the upcoming matches, as one of the major problems with RCB has been that the team performs better in pieces. The lack of consistency is clearly visible.
negative side: Anuj Rawat has failed in the second consecutive match. In the first match against Punjab Kings, he was dismissed for 21 runs and now could not even open the account against Kolkata. After the failure of the top order, the middle order batsmen should have achieved this small score. They lost their wickets after a good start.

What happened in the match for Kolkata?
positive side: In this match, only bowling has been right for Kolkata. Despite scoring just 128 runs by the batsmen, he troubled RCB for every single run. Kolkata bowlers bowled 62 dot balls. The economy rate of Umesh Yadav, Tim Southee and Sunil Narine was less than six. Had 15-20 more runs been scored then Kolkata team could have won the match.
negative side: Venkatesh Iyer, retained by the franchise, flopped in the second match in a row. Nitish Rana and Sam Billings once again could not take advantage of the opportunity. The team’s fielding was also poor after the disappointing performance of the batsmen. Players missed many easy runout chances.
