During the ATP Finals 2021, Hubert Hurkacz did not manage to achieve a single victory and ended the struggle in the group stage. Despite this, he maintained ninth position on the ATP rankings on Monday. Thus, the 24-year-old from Wrocław has gone down in history. He became the first Polish singlist to finish the season in the Top 10 of the world ranking.

The first position at the end of 2021 was already secured by Novak Djoković. Serb has an advantage of 2,900 points over the second Daniil Medvedev after the Tournament of Champions. The Russian lost in Sunday’s final to Alexander Zverev. The German, with the performance in Turin, distanced himself from the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas and secured himself the third place in the ranking.

The ATP Finals 2021 competition finally shaped the top 10 at the end of the season. The fight for a place in this group was fought to the end. Finally, the 10th position was secured by Italian Jannik Sinner, who won one match in Turin as a substitute. He overtook Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime (absent in Italy) and British Cameron Norrie (who entered the game as a second substitute, but did not win any duel).

The inhabitants of Piotrków and Nowy Dwór have already completed their struggles in 2021 and will soon begin preparations for the next season.

The best doubles player in the world at the end of 2021 was Croatian Mate Pavić, who was ahead of his compatriot Nikola Mektic. The ATP Finals triumph moved Frenchman Nicolas Mahut to fifth and his compatriot Pierre-Hugues Herbert to eighth. Łukasz Kubot remained number one in Poland, currently 34th in the doubles classification. Hubert Hurkacz and Jan Zieliński were also in the Top 100.
