It usually takes several years for video game developers to launch a finished product. Star Citizen, a space simulator developed by Chris Roberts and the Cloud Imperium Games team, has been in the alpha phase (in a kind of early access) for over seven years. Even earlier, in 2012, a crowdfunding campaign was launched, in which players contribute their money to the development of the game. The long period of its creation apparently does not discourage fans, because in 2021 a record of payments was broken ?? according to the official production financing history, since January, over 78 million US dollars have been deposited on the developers’ account. The data for individual years are presented in the chart below.

Crowdfunding is just one way to create your dream game. You can read about the others in the article below.
It is ?? just ?? about a million more than in the whole of 2020, but remember that December has just started. It is possible that ?? it will break ?? the amount of 80 million ?? green ??. Until today ?? Cloud Imperium Games studio raised a total of over 418,558,737 dollars from 3,413,544 people (you can check the current data on this page). The sum is still growing, but the release date is not there anyway.
This does not mean, however, that developers are falling asleep in the ashes of pears. The work on the game is in progress, the best proof of which is development plan updated yesterday Star Citizen (the so-called ?? road map ??). You can read its details here.
