Rise of the Beasts: worst box office performance in the Transformers saga, behind Bumblebee

Released on June 7, a week later Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Rise of the Beasts will have raised 61 million dollars on its soil. If it’s not the worst start of the Transformers franchise, after a 66% drop during the second weekend of exploitation, the film has definitely lost its footing, facing strong competition this summer.

With 437 million dollars worldwide, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is the transformers who made the least money at the global box office.

It also failed to top the spin-off Bumblebee, worn by Hailee Steinfeld, which grossed $465.2 million worldwide. With two films over a billion, and the rest of the franchise at half a billion and beyond, the last two Transformers releases are floundering badly:

Transformers: Dark of the Moon – $1,123,794,079
Transformers: Age of Extinction – 1,104,054,072
Transformers: Revenge – 836 519 699
Transformers – 708 272 592
Transformers: The Last Knight – 602 893 340
Bumblebee – 465 195 589
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts – 435,799,226

Movies transformers tend to go in the wrong direction since The Last Knight was released in 2017, given that it made $500 million less than its predecessor. With an estimated budget of 200M excluding marketing, Transformers 7 had to reach the 400M mark (raised to 500M if we take into account the film’s promotional budget), Rise of the Beasts clearly registers as a failure, although Paramount will not suffer serious financial losses.
