Rúben Amorim took advantage, this Saturday, of the press conference of the opening day of the new season of the I Liga, against Sporting de Braga, to put an end to the rumors involving Ricardo Horta… and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Sporting coach assured that, at the moment, he is “only thinking about Sporting de Braga”, so he refused to comment on topics related to the summer transfer market.
“We didn’t try to get Ricardo Horta because we don’t have money. He’s a player for Sp. Braga, I don’t know what will happen to him, but we’re going to play with Sp. Braga. I want to make it clear that we didn’t make a proposal for him because we don’t have money”, he began by saying.
“If he’s closed with Benfica, I don’t know. I’m sure he’ll play, whether he’s closed or spoken. The focus we have is whether he’s going to play on the wing or the striker, it’s the only question we have about him, it was one of the players that helped me to be at this moment in a great club like Sporting. Tomorrow, I may lose the three points”, he continued.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is a Manchester United player and I will not be here commenting on possibilities that do not exist. He is a Manchester United player and it seems to me that he will continue”, added the coach of the green and white set.
