The first rumors about the long-awaited iPhone 16 have leaked, just months after the latest 2023 model was released.
Join us as we explore possible release dates, what to expect from Apple, possible pricing, and the innovations we could see in Apple’s next flagship phone.
When will iPhone 16 be launched?
News about the iPhone 16 is expected to be released at an event held during Apple’s annual launch event in September 2024. Possible dates for the event could be September 3 or 10, which are typical days for the company’s annual launches. However, we cannot exclude September 4th or 11th as an option.
Will Apple continue to surprise us?
We were impressed with the latest WWDC 2023 themed event in June, celebrating the 15th anniversary of the App Store with exciting new features. The iPhone 15, released in September, also stood out for its dynamic island and new roadside assistance service. Now, all eyes are on the future of the iPhone 16, which promises major innovations in design and hardware.
As for memory, it is reported that all models will be equipped with 8GB, which is an improvement for the standard and Plus versions, but not the Pro version. Additionally, there are rumors that the Pro version may support Wi-Fi 7 and have a new 5G modem, which means higher speeds that the standard iPhone 16 model cannot match.
How much does the iPhone 16 cost?
As for prices, they’ll likely remain similar to the iPhone 15, although some analysts say the iPhone 16 could be cheaper due to changes in the chip production process. However, if production costs continue to rise, Apple may be forced to adjust prices to protect its profit margins. The current colors (yellow, pink and black) will likely be available for the range.
What does iPhone 16 bring us?
There are some certainties already. Screen size is expected to increase diagonally, with 6.3 inches for the Pro version and 6.9 inches for the Ultra and Plus, while the standard version should remain at 6.1 inches. In addition to size, the iPhone 16 series may also feature brighter displays. Apple is rumored to be considering more energy-efficient technology to extend battery life.
After introducing the customizable Action button on the iPhone 15 Pro, Apple could add a new capacitive button called Shoot. This button is located just below the power button on the right side and is primarily used for photography and creating multimedia content, especially three-dimensional content for virtual reality.
As for the cameras, even the standard iPhone 16 Pro is expected to retain the quad prism lens of the previous model, and due to the slightly larger case, the diagonal will increase to 6.3 inches, as mentioned above.
iPhone 16 Pro or Max?
The traditional division between standard and Pro models may evolve in 2024 with the launch of Ultra variants. The Pro Max is expected to evolve into Ultra, emphasizing its status as a flagship and not just an upgraded version of the regular Pro. The so-called A17 chip (which will become the A18) will be exclusive to the Si model, and the Pro Max is rumored to feature an “ultra-telephoto” as well as a 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The most significant camera upgrade will likely be reserved for the Pro, Pro Max and/or Ultra models, which could use printed glass for the telephoto lens, allowing for more powerful zoom without sacrificing a thin and light design.
As we await the launch of the iPhone 16 in September 2024, expectations are high, with rumors that Apple’s next flagship will feature exciting innovations in both design and hardware.
