It’s official. According to reports on Deadline, the great Hollywood star, Scarlett Johansson, will star in My Mother’s Wedding. Among future major film projects, we often find her name. The plot and the rest of the cast

The film tells the story of three sisters who return to their childhood home on the occasion of the third marriage of their widowed mother, Diana. They are three daughters who have long since taken very different paths: Georgina is a palliative nurse; Victoria is a Hollywood star; and Katherine, the captain of the Royal Navy, the British Navy. Over the course of a weekend, everyone decides to have this reunion to celebrate mother Diana’s new marriage, however for them it will be impossible not to remember and deal with the past: facing the future is not easy. But perhaps they will succeed, considering that on the occasion there is an unexpected group of very colorful guests.

To play Diana, there is the British actress, director of the film itself, Kristin Scott Thomas. And with My Mother’s Wedding it would be for her and Scarlett Johansson the third interpretation in which they find themselves in the role of mother and daughter since 1998 in The Horse Whisperer And the king’s other woman.

Talking about his directorial debut is Scott Thomas who comments explaining what were the inspirations of the film:

“I have wanted to direct for a long time and it was exciting to create this fictional family using my childhood memories as a springboard. Directing and acting with such talented actresses and reuniting with Scarlett Johansson was exhilarating. ”

In addition to the director’s biographical events, the film is inspired by the novel The Sea Change (1959) by Elizabeth Jane Howard in which the protagonist, the famous British playwright Emmanuel, is grieving the loss of his daughter with his ailing wife, Lilian. Things suddenly change when they go to a Greek island.

In the cast of the film, in addition to the aforementioned actresses we have: Sindhu Vee ( Sex Education, Matilda ), Joshua McGuire ( Cheaters, Anatomy of a Scandal ), Mark Stanley ( Game Of Thrones, Trigger Point ), Thibault de Montalembert ( Call My Agent, The King ) and Samson Kayo ( Bloods, The Bubble ).

The director of the film, Dame Kristin Ann Scott Thomas (1960) is a French naturalized English actress who has worked in both the film, theater and television fields. She earned an Oscar nomination for Best Actress and another a Golden Globe for her masterful performance in the film. The English patient (1996) directed by Anthony Minghella. He won the European Film Award for the film Will always Love You (2008) written and directed by Philippe Claudel. Additionally, Scott Thomas boasts the BAFTA Award for Supporting Actress in the film Four weddings and a funeral (1994) directed by Mike Newell.
