Żyła’s jumps during the training were promising. 125 m in the first session allowed him to finish the trial series in fourth place. The jumper from Wisła finished the second training with the same distance. He did a bit worse during qualifying.
– I switched the mode to winter, but somehow it did not work – Żyła said in his style. “You could have behaved a little better on the threshold, but it’s okay,” added the player with a smile. He also commented on his form. – I feel much better. I feel very good physically. I’m still a bit missing – he said.
It is worth recalling that Piotr Żyła did the best of the Poles in the Sunday World Cup competition in Nizhny Tagil. On Russian soil, he took 16th place. It was a much better result than the day before when he jumped 113.5 m and he was only 36th.
Żyła was also in the Polish national team for the Saturday team competition in Wisła.
