Sony Will Never Abandon the Single Player Narrative Games, Assures Jim Ryan

Jim Ryan of Sony Interactive Entertainment reassures fans of story-based games: investments will continue.

Sony will never stop creating narration-based single player games. This was said by SIE CEO Jim Ryan during an interview with CNET.

The manager of the Japanese company pointed out that this kind of product has never been so successful on PlayStation as it is now, and therefore there will continue to be investments in this regard.

“We have never had greater success with our games based on the plot of what we are experiencing right now. We feel good and certainly, it is a kind of approach from which we will never move away”.

“It’s like any game category or any entertainment category. There are good and less good examples. When they are well made, and think of the FIFA statistics, for example, the involvement of the public is simply incredible.”¬†

The words of Jim Ryan follow those expressed in recent months by Shawn Layden of Sony Worldwide Studios, according to which the company will continue to deal with narrative-based single-player games, with an eye to other genres and markets, including games as a service.
