Sousa was to come to Poland more often to watch the matches of PKO Ekstraklasa. However, this has not happened in recent months for a number of reasons. One should mention the representation breaks and, above all, the trainer’s fear of coronavirus. This was justified, because the 51-year-old himself was infected.
The coach was supposed to appear in Poland on the occasion of the last round of the Ekstraklasa autumn round (December 17-19), but that may not happen either. According to Interia, the coach has already canceled his visit to Italy, where he was to talk to several players. As you know, the national team has always been number one for him.
– I will remind the coach about it, that’s for sure … He had already declared that he would come, so I don’t think there would be any problems with that – Kulesza assured in an interview with Interia, but Sousa’s visit to the top-level match in Poland may be postponed in time.
According to the portal, the coach’s conversation with the president of the Polish Football Association will not move – it is to take place this calendar year. The match was originally supposed to take place on November 16, the day after the defeat with Hungary (1: 2), but by the decision of the federation’s helmsman, it was postponed to an unspecified (at that time) date after meeting the Poles’ play-off rival.
The Portuguese may also visit Poland at the beginning of 2022. If the pandemic situation allows it, in January a managerial course organized by the Polish Football Association will be held. – I want the coach to take part in the meeting with the coaches who will be taking UEFA Pro exams. He should leave some knowledge with us for the next few months. The Portuguese train great, and the trainer worked as the vice-president of the Portuguese federation, he dealt with training. We will take advantage of this – said Interia Kulesza.
