Speedway: Apator Toruń got the perfect calendar. At the beginning, Sparta Wrocław

– In my opinion, this is a much more advantageous calendar than, for example, a meeting with Sparta on their own track. It is known that at Motoarena the chances of winning would be greater, but it must be remembered that a possible defeat in such a match would have much more serious consequences. At this point, the people of Toruń are going to Wrocław without any pressure, and if they manage to achieve a good result, everyone will be delighted. The failure has practically no consequences – admits the former manager of Apator, Jacek Gajewski.

However, this is not the end of good news, because after the clash with Sparta, Toruń will be able to recover from a possible failure at TŻ Ostrovia, which will come to Motoarena in the second round. – The first game of the season at a given stadium always gathers crowds of spectators in the stands. So it is important to present yourself as well as possible then. This may make the fans leave after the match delighted and then they will decide to quickly return to the next match. This has been missing in Toruń in recent years and may this year be aided by the calendar – adds Gajewski.

There is one more important issue, which is the matter of quite radical rebuilding of the team. Three new players (Emil Sajfutdinow, Patryk Dudek and Denis Zieliński) will make their debut in Apator next year, so it’s obvious that the team may need a bit more time to perform as expected. The first two rubbing matches may allow them to present themselves in full force during the match with Stal Gorzów in the third round.

– Although for the leading teams the arrangement of matches does not matter that much, it is much better to start with matches without a lot of pressure and increase the difficulty level gradually. In the case of Toruń, even starting the game with two away defeats will not be a problem, as long as great home victories come later – ends Gajewski.
